For most of our motorhomes up to 3.5 t a normal car licence (category B) is enough. Larger vehicles over 3.5 t require category C1. We are happy to help you find a vehicle that matches your licence – just tell me how many people are travelling.
The price depends on the vehicle, travel period and season – in return you get a fully travel-ready, well-maintained motorhome including a handover briefing. The quickest way to get a concrete price is a short, no-obligation enquiry with your preferred dates.
A deposit is due for the rental, which you get back in full after a damage-free return. The exact amount depends on the vehicle and is stated in your offer – feel free to enquire without obligation and you will see all the terms.
Our rental vehicles are insured (incl. third-party liability, usually with fully comprehensive cover and an excess). In addition, you can protect your trip with our ERGO travel add-on insurance. The exact excess is stated in your offer.
Pets are welcome in many vehicles – but this depends on the vehicle. You will find tips for travelling with a dog in our guide. Tell me your travel period and we will find a suitable, pet-friendly motorhome.
At pick-up you receive a detailed personal briefing on the technology, water, electrics and layout – so you never start unprepared. Please allow some time on the handover day for this.
Cancellation is possible under our rental terms; the conditions depend on how close to the start of the trip you cancel. The exact tiers are set out in your rental contract/offer.
As a rule, free kilometres are included in the rental price; depending on the tariff you get unlimited kilometres or a generous kilometre package. We will clarify which tariff suits your trip directly in the offer.
Depending on the season there is a minimum rental period (usually longer in high season than in low season). Tell me your preferred dates and I will let you know whether they fit.
Pick-up takes place at our station – you will get the exact location with your booking confirmation. If you tell me your region, I will let you know what works best for you.
Usually there is a down payment at booking and the balance before the start of the trip. The accepted payment methods are stated in your offer – feel free to enquire without obligation.
Our motorhomes come travel-ready – with a kitchen, bathroom/WC, heating and everything for everyday life on the road. Exactly which equipment is on board depends on the vehicle. Tell me what matters to you and I will recommend the right model.
Many of our vehicles have a parking heater and are also suitable for cooler trips. For winter tours we recommend a suitable model – tell me your dates and destination.
A panel van (campervan) is a compact, agile camper based on a delivery van – ideal for two people or a weekend, usually with a small kitchen and bathroom. Up to 3.5 t you can drive it on a car licence (category B).
On an overcab (alcove) model an additional sleeping area extends over the driver’s cab – giving you especially many berths. Great for families and longer trips, often with up to six beds with us.
A semi-integrated motorhome keeps the base vehicle’s cab and adds a living body behind it. Compact and comfortable – ideal for couples and smaller families, often with a drop-down bed over the seating area.
On an integrated (fully integrated) motorhome the cab and living area merge into one unit – maximum living space and comfort, the premium motorhome. Particularly large, luxurious models are called liners.
A caravan is towed behind the car. The advantage: at your destination you unhitch and stay flexible with the car. Depending on the weight you need licence B, B96 or BE.
A pop-top roof folds up at the pitch and creates extra standing height plus, usually, another berth – popular on compact campervans.
Common are: fixed bed (built in, always ready to use), single beds (lengthways, separate), queen bed (large double bed accessible from both sides) and drop-down bed (lowers electrically, saving space during the day). Tell me the number of people and I will find the right fit.
Many of our vehicles have an awning – an extendable sun and rain roof for the area in front of the door. Whether a particular vehicle has one is stated in the vehicle description.
Most motorhomes have a wet room with WC and often an integrated shower; larger models have a separate bathroom. Usually a cassette toilet with a removable tank is fitted.
Fresh water for drinking and showering comes from the fresh water tank; waste water from the sink and shower is collected in the grey water tank; the toilet waste is called black water. Disposal takes place at service points on motorhome pitches and campsites.
In the living area a leisure battery provides power (lights, water pump, USB). It is charged while driving, via shore power (a socket at the pitch) or solar. With solar and enough battery you can camp off-grid – i.e. without shore power – for a while.
Yes, our vehicles have heating (usually gas or diesel heating), many additionally a parking heater – so it stays cosy and warm even in cool weather. For winter tours we recommend a winter-proof model.
Motorhomes up to 3.5 t permissible total weight can be driven on category B. With B96 or BE heavier combinations are possible. The payload is what you may still load (luggage, water, people) – plan it realistically.
You can stay overnight at motorhome pitches and campsites (with service points and power). Free-standing is only permitted to a very limited extent in Germany, and real wild camping is mostly prohibited. Different rules apply abroad.
Depending on the country you need a vignette (e.g. Austria, Switzerland) or pay distance-based tolls; in many cities an emissions sticker or Crit’Air sticker is required for low-emission zones. Over 3.5 t, separate toll rules sometimes apply – check this for your destination country before the trip.
Yes – alongside motorhomes and campervans you can also rent a caravan affordably at Camperfuchs. You tow the caravan with your own car; at your destination you unhitch and stay mobile with the car. Tell me your travel period and we will find a suitable caravan near you.
